Hawai’i Banana Cream Pie Recipe Easy

Even when I want to make a pie ‘real quick’ I find that the process always takes longer than I anticipated. This recipe is fun to make for kids. Not too technical for them and fun when they get to smash the graham crackers or run the FOOD PROCESSOR. The whole family will love when fresh whipped cream is made legit in a dispenser, too! Delicious fun for everyone. Yes, we’ve made our pie filling with all organic ingredients and that will always be a winner. Today, we’re taking the short cut and I don’t feel guilty about it either. This pie is a perfect party dish, everyone will have some, none will go to waste. It is best when eaten right away, in my opinion, before the banana turns brown however, that doesn’t stop my family from eating it over the span of a couple days. Even in a condo kitchen, during vacation, this recipe is an easy family pleaser.

This recipe includes:

  1. Pie filling

  2. Whipped Topping

  3. Graham cracker crust

  4. Essential tools


  • One box of JELLO Vanilla or Banana Cream Pudding mix.

  • I just buy the instant pudding on sale and have them in my pantry.

  • For Pie filling reduce the 2 cups it calls for by quarter cup to make it thicker and fuller. Let it set in the fridge while mixing up the pie crust.

  • Sometimes I’ve doubled the filling but not often. It’s plenty full with just one box in a 9” pan.

Graham Cracker Crust

  • 12 Graham Crackers crushed to dust in a FOOD PROCESSOR or crushed in a plastic zip lock bag using a rolling pin.

  • Add 1 tsp Cinnamon or any spice you think tastes good.

  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar.

  • 1/3 cup melted butter

  • Mix together.

  • Press into Un-greased glass pie pan using the back of a spoon or a glass. The butter in the graham crust mixture will make it non-stick to your glass pie pan.

  • Bake for 10-15 minutes or until hardened but not burned.

  • Let cool completely before adding the pie filling.

Whipped Cream

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream

  • 1 tsp granulated sugar

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp cornstarch to stabilize the whipped cream to use as a pie topping.

  • Add ingredients to the dispenser and shake it up good 20 times before activating it with a charger (shown above in ad).

  • Shake it up 20 times before each use.

  • Hold dispenser upside down during each use.


Assembling the banana cream pie

  • Slice two bananas (I prefer apple-banana only found in the islands).

  • Layer bananas evenly on the crust.

  • Spoon the pudding over the bananas.

  • Using the whipped cream dispenser frosting flower attachment, make concentric flowers starting around the rim, working towards the center.

  • Let is set for at least half an hour.

  • Enjoy.
